Tania se entera de que su abuela pasó los últimos años de su vida en la compañía amorosa de un extraterrestre. Junto con dos amigas, la mujer Trans viaja a través de la Argentina rural para devolver a la criatura a su lugar de origen.

Su primer largometraje, “Extraño”, ganó el Tiger Award a la Mejor Película en el 2003 en el Rotterdam Film Festival y el Premio a la Mejor Película Argentina en BAFICI. Escribió su segunda película, “Cuatro mujeres descalzas”, en la residencia del Festival de Cannes. “La invención de la carne” participó en la selección oficial del Festival de Cine de Locarno 2009. “Los labios”, co-dirigida con Ivan Fund, participó en la sección Un Certain Regard de la Selección Oficial de Cannes (2010) donde su protagonistas ganaron el premio a Mejor Actriz. La película también ganó el Premio al Mejor Director en la Competencia Argentina del BAFICI 2010. “La Paz” formó parte del Foro de la Berlinale y ganó el Premio a la Mejor Película en BAFICI. Formó parte del jurado en Cannes, Toulouse, Lima, BAFICI, SANFIC. Santiago también escribe para teatro y cine.
