Dressed in a low-cut dress and a bridal coat, we discover the extravagant world of the queer fighter, Cassandro, through the loving eyes of Marie Losier, who films him with the warmth of celluloid. Saúl Armendáriz, as he is known outside the ring, opens his personal universe to show us the freedom and passion that he imprints on his character, with which he has managed to destabilize the stereotypes of masculinity in wrestling, even at the cost of constant discrimination and rejection. The film follows him during the last five years of his career, sharing the love and dedication with which he lives his profession. Shot between El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, the story crosses physical and emotional boundaries to build a sensitive and refreshing portrait of an admirable exotic fighter.

Marie Losier es una curadora de arte y directora de cine, nacida en París, Francia, en 1972. Egresada de la Universidad de Nanterre, con una licenciatura en literatura, Losier se mudó a Nueva York, donde ha radicado por más de 20 años y donde estudió Bellas Artes en la Hunter College. Ha mostrado su trabajo en diversas galerías y museos alrededor del mundo, además de realizar infinidad de retratos de películas. Su cine, presente siempre en los principales festivales de cine del mundo, como Rotterdam, Tribeca y Sundance, es ejemplo del cine alternativo y experimental. Entre sus películas se encuentran documentales como The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye (2011), Alan Vega, Just a Million Dreams (2014), Masha Natasha (2015) y Cassandro, the Exotico (2018).
Marie Losier is an art curator and film director, born in Paris, France, in 1972. Graduated from the University of Nanterre with a degree in literature, Losier moved to New York, where she has lived for more than 20 years and where she studied Fine Arts at Hunter College. She has shown her work in various galleries and museums around the world, in addition to making countless movie portraits. Her films, always present in the main film festivals of the world, such as Rotterdam, Tribeca and Sundance, are an example of alternative and experimental cinema. Her films include documentaries such as The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye (2011), Alan Vega, Just a Million Dreams (2014), Masha Natasha (2015) and Cassandro, the Exotico (2018).
