Alexandre vive en Lyon con su esposa e hijos. Un día se entera por casualidad de que el sacerdote que abusó de él cuando estaba en scouts sigue trabajando con niños. Decide actuar y pronto se le unen otras dos víctimas del sacerdote, François y Emmanuel. Se unen para “levantar la carga del silencio” que rodea a su terrible experiencia. Alexandre lives in Lyon with his wife and children. One day he learns by chance that the priest who abused him when he was in scouts is still working with children. He decides to take action and is soon joined by two other victims of the priest, François and Emmanuel. They band together to ‶lift the burden of silence″ surrounding their ordeal. Después de graduarse en cine en la Sorbona, estudió dirección en la escuela de cine parisina FEMIS de 1990-93. Después de varios cortometrajes, se hizo un nombre con una farsa familiar, Sitcom (1998). Participó en la competencia en la Berlinale en el año 2000 con su adaptación Fassbinder Gouttes d’eau sur pierres brulantes, y nuevamente en 2002 con 8 Femmes. Sus películas Sous le sable y Swimming Pool (ambas protagonizadas por Charlotte Rampling) disfrutaron de exitosas actuaciones teatrales.
After graduating in film from the Sorbonne he studied directing at the Parisian film school FEMIS from 1990-93. After several short films, he made a name for himself with a family farce, Sitcom (1998). He took part in Competition at the Berlinale in the year 2000 with his Fassbinder adaptation Gouttes d’eau sur pierres brulantes, and again in 2002 with 8 Femmes. His films Sous le sable and Swimming Pool (both of which starred Charlotte Rampling) enjoyed successful theatrical runs.
