El documental LAS MIL DE MUJERES tuvo como punto de partida una propuesta interactiva: se pidió a las artistas feministas, seleccionadas mediante una convocatoria en línea, que crearan un proyecto artístico inspirado en las historias de otras mujeres. Siguiendo a las cuatro artistas elegidas, Ana Luisa Santos (Brasil), Bia Ferreira (Brasil), Florencia Duran (Uruguay) y Lena Chen (EE. UU.). La película refleja sobre el activismo y la identidad de género a través de su proceso creativo. Al reunir a mujeres de diferentes orígenes, con perspectivas diferentes y un trabajo único, la película ofrece una perspectiva multifacética y en evolución sobre el arte, el activismo y el género. Al acompanãr a las artistas cuando están en el centro de su proceso creativo, el documental LAS MIL DE MUJERES muestra cómo se expresan las mujeres, dónde encuentran la inspiración y cómo conectan el mundo exterior con su vida interior para crear obras de arte significativas.
A THOUSAND WOMEN starting point was an interactive proposition: feminist artists, selected by an online open call, were each asked to create an artistic project inspired by other women’s stories. Following the four chosen artists: Ana Luisa Santos (Brazil), Bia Ferreira (Brazil), Florencia Duran (Uruguay) and Lena Chen (USA), the film reflects on activism and gender identity through their creative process. By bringing together women from different backgrounds, with differing outlooks and unique work the film offers a multi-faceted and evolving perspective on art, activism and gender. By following artists when they are in the core of their creative process, the documentary A THOUSAND WOMEN shows how women express themselves, where they find inspiration and how they connect the world outside them with their inner life to create meaningful artworks.

Rita Toledo, socia fundadora de Daza Filmes, creó y produjo SONIA SILK OPERATION, una trilogía de ficción ganadora del Fondo Hubert Bals que se estrenó en el Festival de Rotterdam en 2013. Rita empezó su carrera produciendo y escribiendo cortometrajes como SOUND AND THE REST, seleccionado para Cannes, San Sebastián y Clermont Ferrand. Rita también es guionista, y su primer guión THREE KINGS NIGHTS fue dirigido por Vinícius Reis y recibió el premio al Mejor Actor en el Festival de Brasilia en 2012. Es antropólogo y recientemente recibió un Master en Guión en el American Film Institute – AFI (Los Ángeles), concluído con una beca Fulbright-CAPES. Rita lanza actualmente el corto narrativo CADELAS, seleccionado para el Festival de Rio 2018. También está
desarrollando el guión de la película EL HOMBRE QUE HABLÓ A MARIPOSAS, que ha ganado el Fondo de Desarrollo del FSA/ANCINE y fue seleccionado por el Programa Films From Rio (Marché du Film , Ventana Sur, RioMarket).
Founder partner of Daza Filmes, Rita Toledo created and produced the SONIA SILK OPERATION, a fiction trilogy awarded by the Hubert Bals Fund that premiered at the Rotterdam Festival in 2013. She started her career as a filmmaker producing and writing short films such as SOUND AND THE REST, selected for Cannes, San Sebastian and Clermont Ferrand. Rita is also a screenwriter, and her first screenplay THREE KINGS NIGHTS was directed by Vinícius Reis and awarded Best Actor at the Brasilia Festival 2012. Graduated as Anthropologist, Rita recently received a Master Degree in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute – AFI (Los Angeles) with a Fulbright-CAPES Scholarship. Rita is currently launching the narrative short CADELAS, selected for Rio International Film Festival 2018. She is also developing the screenplay for the feature THE MAN WHO TALKED TO BUTTERFLIES, awarded by the FSA Development Fund and selected by Films From Rio Program (Marché du Film, Ventana Sur, Rio Market).
