Sinopsis

Los barcos de carga forman un espacio de transición para los viajeros que realizan travesías que pueden durar varios días, así como para las comunidades indígenas que viven a orillas del río Amazonas, quienes luchan por mantener sus tradiciones culturales y a la vez, adaptarse a la modernidad.

Cargo boats form a non-lieu, a space of transition for the traveler staking journeys that can last days, as well as for the indigenous communities living on the edges of the Amazon River, fighting for the survival of their cultural traditions and struggling to adapt to modernity.

Álvaro y Diego Sarmiento son dos hermanos cineastas peruanos. “Río Verde. El tiempo de  los Yakurunas“, su primer largometraje documental, se estrenó en el 67 Festival de Cine de Berlín y en el MoMA Doc Fortnighten Nueva York. Su segundo documental, ‘Sembradoras de vida’, se estrenó en el 69 Festival de Cine de Berlín.

Álvaro and Diego Sarmiento are two Peruvian filmmaker brothers. “Green River. The time of the Yakurunas”, their first feature documentary, premiered at the 67th Berlin Film Festival and at the MoMA Doc Fortnight in New York. Their second documentary, ‘Sembradoras de vida’, premiered at the 69th Berlin Film Festival.
