Sinopsis

Dos jóvenes directoras sirias en el campo de refugiados de Za’atari (Jordania) y dos jóvenes directoras indígenas shipibo-konibo en Lima (Perú), intercambian correspondencia cinematográfica íntima, a partir de sus experiencias cotidianas.

Two young syrian directors in the Za’atari refugee camp (Jordan) and two young indigenous shipibo-konibo directors in Lima (Peru) exchange intimate cinematographic correspondence, based on their daily experiences.

CHRISTY CAUPER SILVANO (Perú)

Es fotógrafa, cineasta y gestora cultural shipiba que vive en Cantagallo, Lima, Perú. Ha codirigido el cortometraje “Un pedacito de la selva en la ciudad” (2015), que ganó un premio del público en Mi Primer Festival , en Lima. Sus fotografías también fueron presentadas en la exposición colectiva “Fotos por el cambio” en el Instituto Peruano Cultural Norteamericano. Su primer largometraje, Solo el mar nos separa, apoyado por el Sundance Institute y Creative Capital, tuvo su estreno mundial en Hot Docs 2021.

Is a Shipiba photographer, filmmaker and cultural manager who lives in Cantagallo, Lima, Peru. She has co-directed the short film “A little piece from the jungle in the city” (2015), which won an audience award at My First Festival, in Lima. Her photographs were also presented in the group exhibition “Photos for a change”at the Instituto Peruano Cultural Norteamericano. Her first feature film, “Only the sea between us”, supported by the Sundance Institute and Creative Capital, had its premiere world in Hot Docs 2021.

KAROLI BAUTISTA PIZARRO (Perú)

Es una cineasta, gestora cultural y activista shipiba que vive en Cantagallo, Lima, Perú. Su cortometraje “Escúchame cantar” (2016) se proyectó en el Festival del Cine Latinoamericano de Carolina del Norte y en el Alice Fest. Sus fotografías aparecieron en un artículo de la revista peruana de investigación Ojo Público sobre los problemas de derechos humanos en su comunidad durante la pandemia–2020. Su primer largometraje, “Solo el mar nos separa”, apoyado por el Sundance Institute y Creative Capital, tuvo su estreno mundial en Hot Docs 2021.

She is a Shipiba filmmaker, cultural manager and activist living in Cantagallo, Lima, Peru. Her short film “Escúchame cantar” (2016) was screened at the North Carolina Latin American Film Festival and at Alice Fest. His photographs appeared in an article in the Peruvian investigative magazine Ojo Público about human rights problems in his community during the pandemic–2020. Her first feature film, “Only the ocean between us”, supported by the Sundance Institute and Creative Capital, had its world premiere in Hot Docs 2021.

KHALDIYA AMER ALI (SIRIA)

Es una cineasta siria que vive en el campo de refugiados de Za’atari, en Jordania. Su cortometraje “Another kind of girl” (2015) se estrenó en Sundance, se proyectó en Cannes y SXSM, ganó numerosos premios y apareció en los Op-Docs del New York Times. Su primer largometraje, “Solo el mar nos separa“, apoyado por el Sundance Institute y Creative Capital, tuvo su estreno mundial en Hot Docs 2021.

She is a Syrian filmmaker who lives in the Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan. Hace poco produjo un cortometraje para la Asociación Thomson Reuters y completó una película 360. Su primer largometraje, “Solo el mar nos separa”, apoyado por el Sundance Institute y Creative Capital, tuvo su estreno mundial en Hot Docs 2021.
